Step by step / Modern French V-Shape gel nail
| Preparation: Prepare the nail as usual: 1. push the skin up, remove any sticky skin with the scrappy part of the preparatory spatula, 2. shorten the nail length, 3. mat the surface with 180 grit file, 4. Dust off carefully, then use the preparatory liquids for proper sterilization, dehydration and adhesion (first use Nail Prep, then theacid or acid-free primer, as you like, or even both), 5. Before placing the pattern, remove the middle part and stick it as reinforcement onto the back side of the part below the free edge. Cut the pattern and tailor it to the form of the natural nail’s free edge, if necessary. The pattern should be positioned accurately according to the form of the desired built nail. Now, in this case, I shaped the pattern after the form of the modern stiletto nail, but if you like to build a parallel sided nail, it should have a parallel or slightly shrinking cylinder form. |

1. Apply a thin base layer with any of our single-phase building gels (Builder Clear I or II, Xtreme Clear or Titanium). In order to save on refining and sanding at the end of the nail-building process, try to build the final shape of the nail. It is recommended to do the process gradually, progressing finger by finger, and by switching hands, just as in the upcoming stages of nail building. Place the nail in the UV lamp and after approx. 40-50 seconds the nail gets flexible with the help of a bending tweezers, which is an essential step in molding, not only for aesthetic, but also for static reasons. After bending the nail, it should immediately be put back in the UV lamp to bind. |

2. Elongate the nail bed with Cover Pink gel: the Cover Pink gel should be emphasized in the elongated part and be thinned away (till it becomes clear) gradually toward the nail bed. It’s very important to form the perfect negative of the smile line. So the Cover Pink gel won’t inevitably only serve to elongate the nail bed but may also be used to form the smile line, consequently it's not only applied on short or chewed nails since this method is excellent to make even a dramatic smile line on any nail form. |

3. Once the Cover Pink has bounded, shape the white free edge, (which you are recommended to do with a thick white gel: Xtreme White, Builder White I or II) to get a really nice contoured smile line. To achieve the best white shadow on the smile line, push the white gel onto the wall of theCover Pink carefully (not to overlay the pink edge), and create a certain thickness on the smile line with the white material, while thinning the material toward the free edge. If necessary, you can improve the smile line with a cleaned brush, by adjusting it from downwards from the top. Place it in the UV lamp. |

4. Create the C-curve to support the nail by covering the entire surface with any of our thick building gels (e.g.Xtreme Clear, Builder I, Titanium), and thinning it away gradually toward the edges. The bend of the C-curve should always be proportionate to the length of the built nail, so if you build a long Stiletto shape, the C-curve should be more emphatic, and with a shorter nail, it should be less curved. For this reason you’re recommended to have various kinds of building gels in different thickness. |
